Eustace Recognizes Award Recipients

On Wednesday November 18th, the Bishop Eustace community recognized 10 members of the Class of 2021. The 10 recipients were honored by various institutions for their dedication and achievement in a variety of areas. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment to excellence. The honorees are:
Jacqueline Reagan-The Villanova University of Book Award
Presented to a high school student who has demonstrated academic excellence in a challenging curriculum, a commitment to serving those less fortunate in their greater community, and embodies a sense of school and community spirit as an example to others.
Erin Sullenberger-The Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award from the University of Rochester
Named in honor of two of Rochester’s most significant pioneers of social justice. It recognizes a student’s commitment to understanding and addressing difficult social issues.
Brendan Hoag-The Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology
Awarded to a student who has shown a strong interest in innovation and/or information technology. They have also demonstrated a high level of achievement in this area.
Nick Ward-The George Eastman Young Leaders Award
Given to a student with strong leadership experience at school and in the community, who has challenged him/herself academically, and has extensive involvement in extracurricular activities.
Nia Bellopede-The Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award
Awarded to a student who has demonstrated high achievement and rigor in math and science class and displays positive contributions to their school and within the larger community.
Jacqueline Smith-The George Washington Alumni Book Award
Recognizes a high school student who embody the GW drive and spirit, specifically with their academic excellence, leadership outside of the classroom, diversity of thought, and ability to put knowledge into action.
Charlotte Gottilla-The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal
Award recognizes the superlative academic achievement of young men and women. It serves to motivate students towards careers in science, engineering, and technology.
Shannon Jefferis and Alexandra Leese-The St. Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement & Social Conscience
Recognizes outstanding students who demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism and leadership in their communities. Students selected for this award demonstrate concern for social justice issues and a sincere commitment to service through opportunities in high school or community organizations.
Lorenzo R. Carletti-National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. Over 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
