A space for every singer
Our diverse program accommodates every level of singer with a variety of courses and clubs from which to choose.
Concert Choir
This full-year elective course for junior and senior female students and all male students cultivates proper choral technique and basic musicianship skills. Our repertoire covers several historical musical periods as well as modern choral compositions. Students are responsible for attending all scheduled choral performances, which include the Christmas and Spring Concerts, as well as Masses throughout the year and special request events.
Choral Workshop
This full-year elective course introduces female freshmen and sophomores to basic musicianship skills and singing technique, including breath support, vocal tones, and singing as part of a large ensemble. Choral Workshop covers a wide repertoire ranging from classic to contemporary choral compositions. Students are responsible for attending all scheduled choral performances.
Select Choir
Open for audition to any student registered for Concert Choir or Choral Workshop, this ensemble consists of 12–16 vocal musicians who perform at all school concerts as well as community events including Masses for the Diocese of Camden and the Knights of Columbus.
Rehearsals take place on Mondays 5:15 p.m–6:45 p.m.
AP Music Theory
Designed for seniors with experience playing an instrument or with a background in vocal performance, this advanced course focuses on the study of harmony, melody, ear training, and melodic and rhythmic dictation. Participants must be active in one of Eustace Prep’s performance ensembles.
The course meets each of the six cycle days, culminating with the AP exam for college credit in May.
Independent Music Study
This full-year course offers registered vocal students the opportunity to meet with our Arts Department Chair individually or in a small group for personal vocal study. Participants will focus on tone, technique, sight reading, and preparation for upcoming auditions and performances.
Liturgical Choir
Eustace Prep’s vocal ensembles support the school’s celebration of the Holy Mass throughout the school year. Each Mass requires one ensemble to lead the congregation in song and allows several students to perform solos. Freshmen and sophomores who volunteer are eligible for two hours of service.
