TRANSPORTATION

How will your child get to and from campus? While bus coverage varies from township to township, most municipalities in Burlington and Camden counties provide a busing option for eligible private school students that includes Eustace Prep.

Types of bus coverage

In accordance with New Jersey state laws for non-public school students, transportation to and from Eustace Prep may be covered by your local school district’s Board of Education. And for many who are not eligible, aid in lieu may be available.

Depending on where you live, your district will fall into one of three transportation categories:

  • Bus pickup near your home.
Students eligible for busing will receive a bus pass from their local district in August. While the state maximum distance for bus pickup is 2.5 miles from your home, the typical pickup location is less than 1 mile.
  • Monetary aid in lieu of transportation.
Students ineligible for busing may be eligible for financial aid paid by your local district. This year, aid-in-lieu is approximately $1,000, paid across two installments.
  • No busing or aid in lieu of transportation.
If you live in a “walking” district, you may not be eligible for busing or financial aid. Most parents in these districts arrange carpools, or choose to use public transportation.

Eustace Prep does not provide busing for athletic and other after-school activities. However, students in the Lenape Regional High School District have received busing on Tuesdays through Thursdays and are expected to do so moving forward.

Details from your district

Because Bishop Eustace Preparatory School does not manage the bus program for which your child may be applying, we cannot answer questions specific to your municipality or eligibility.

We encourage all families to speak directly with their municipality’s Board of Education for information on bus routes, eligibility requirements, and policies on inclement weather.
